home again

i am finally home after an amazing two weeks in mexico. it was not your typical mexican trip filled with sun bathing and beautiful beaches, but one with cowboys, highway taco stands, and cheese & wine filled mountain hikes. there was one thing in which all trips to mexico must include, and that is tequila [mescal]. along with my lovely friend aldo, we visited places such as san miguel, guanajuato, bernal and san vincente. we ended the trip with a short stay in mexico city. although it ended much too soon, i am glad to have had the break from my canadian winter, to visit an old friend and experience the food and culture of mexico - sans cancun.

be sure to check out my photo blog for more pictures here!

i did pick up some sweet swag in mexico. although probably not as much as i would have thought. the biggest portion of purchases was probably mexican candy. delicious mixtures of fruit, sugar and chili - seriously the greatest kind of candy one could wish for! also picked up was a beautiful mexican scarf, artistan cowhide satchel, small leather camera bag, luchadore mask, some crafts and pretty postcards. the tequila is for my brother.

and for you lou, my biggest fan, one beautiful hand painted day of the dead key chain.
